Sports have always played a significant role in people and became an essential part of their life. Kabaddi is one of the popular sports which is played worldwide, including India. It is also the national sport of Bangladesh and Nepal; it is played in almost all the schools of the state and children are aware of their national sport.
Kabaddi is the official game played in few states of India and kabaddi is also a game that is played at the national and international levels.
Every sport has some rules and regulations according to which the particular sport is played. Rules can be considered as a thin line to play the game and for fair judgment.

Overview of the Game
Before starting with the rules of the games, let’s know about the basic things about the game Kabaddi:
- The object of the Game. Starting with the objective of the game, the fundamental objective of the game is to score more and more points from the opposition team. The points can be gathered by defending and attacking the opposition team.
- Players. In kabaddi, two teams are divided, each consisting of 12 players, in which 7 players are allowed to play on the field at one time. Both the teams try hard to make points by attacking and defending because points are the one which decides the winner of the game.
- Winner of the Game. In kabaddi, the winner of the game is decided according to the points both the teams have gathered. At the end of the game, if both the teams have the same points, then the game is drawn, and one power round is played where both the teams are given one chance to gain points.
The Kabaddi game rules
- In this game, there should be two teams with 12 players in each team, and there also only 7 players are allowed on the field.
- This game is divided into physical categories in which subclasses are divided according to the age and weight of the player.
- In order to look after the game, there are 6 officials, including the referee, scorer, two umpires, two assistant scorers. Their function is to look after the player and encourage fair game.
- The match is divided into two halves consisting of 20 minutes in each half, with a break of 5 minutes in between.
- This match starts with a toss of the coin; the winning team has to decide whether they want to raid or not. In the second half of the game, the teams have to exchange their charges and move to the opposite place.
- One member at a time has to enter the Opposition team and to gain the points, he has to touch the players of the opposite team and return to their area. Similarly, the opposing team will stop that player from returning to their place.
